I grew up in CA, near the border of Mexico. So authentic Mexican food was never difficult to find. I didn’t realize how spoiled I was til I moved to CO. I was pretty disappointed in a lot of the Mexican food out here until I tried Tacos el Amigo on a recommendation I received. The birria is the best in the city. The vibes in the restaurant are authentic. And the service is always friendly. Love this place!

Parking here can be tricky but it is 100% worth it. These are the best birria tacos I have ever had and I’m from El Paso Texas so that’s saying something! The corn tortillas are perfectly made and the meat is pull apart tender with so much flavor, the sauces that come with it allow you to make it super juicy or nice and spicy. The service is really great and for just a couple people in a whole in the wall restaurant I will keep coming back for these tacos and to try other things. Ten out of ten, give these guys a chance it is amazing!!

Hole in the wall places are always better..! This one was no disappointment in that legend.. The chilly rellenos are huge and so full of flavor.. the sauce is served on the side so you can spice it up to your liking.. The beef burrito was no slouch..! It took up to whole plate.. and soo yummy!! The pictures on the menu don’t even match the amount of food you get..! Definitely a big bang for the buck!! Atmosphere is amazing and clean.. great service..!! I am definitely looking forward to my next visit..! Thanks!!

I drove past this place for almost 4 years. Tonight I decided to swing by because everywhere else was closed. They are open till midnight. The Birra is Perfect. This place is way underrated. The quality of the food was far above what I expected. The portions were huge. Get the Birra dunk it in the sauce! This may have been the best food I’ve had this decade so far. Thank you so much to the owners and the people who work here for being able to produce such amazing food. I really appreciate that a lot!

Be prepared to wait for a little bit, but it is well worth it because these breakfast burritos are absolutely delicious! They give you a whole bunch of sauces and honestly I don’t think I’ve had better in the springs. There is some very loud music playing and only one girl working so everything was taking a long time. The door was even locked when we arrived, but the food was worth all of that.

Its usually hard to find a place that cooks menudo correctly. Some restaurants don't clean it enough. Some don't flavor it enough or are stingy with the meat. Finally, I found THE spot! When I say the menudo was perfect, it truly was!!! It reminded me of my mom's cooking. Now, I don't have to spend hours cleaning and cooking menudo. Now I have a spot! And they put pata too.

So so so good!! Went around 2pm so nobody else was dining. The workers were nice and really fast. Music was loud when I went in but they lowered it (I didn’t ask them to!). Got birria tacos con queso and a jarritos. The consome was delicious. Wish I lived in the springs so I could come eat here all the time!

Great little taco shop. The food was delicious, authentic, and reasonably priced. The churro was especially great! It was very good and just the right portion to share with the table. Overall, a good late night hangout spot!
